Thank you,

Windows 7 freezes during installation

edited February 2013 in Scanner

Hi,

I am presently preparing migrating from WHSv1 to a Windows 7 based file server. The StableBit suite seems a good choice. The last build of DrivePool now works even under non-American region setting, but I get into severe problems trying to install Scanner. Setup works fine according to a message displayed, but then the process stops - reporting "not responding" in Task Manager. When ending the task everything freezes. Only way out is the system restart button. On restarting the POST is very slow, apparently analyzing the drives. The system needs to be restored in safe mode to get out of the mess.

I surely am getting my share of the beginner's problems.

  • I may not have been clear: please inform me what the problem may be and what to do. Is this also an issue of  national setting, as was the case for DrivePool?
