Thank you,

Drivepool not seeing any of my disks

edited October 2011 in DrivePool
Installed M3 build 4058 on a converted HP MediaSmart EX475. It has been upgraded with 2GB ram and a dual core AMD BE-2300 CPU. The EX475 uses some kind of drive enclosure that exposes the SATA disks as hot-pluggable SCSI drives to WHS 2011. This never caused any issues in WHS1 or WHS2011.

The OS works fine with these disks. And all four show up in the dashboard under Server folders and harddrives.

But on the StableBit tab under Harddrive pooling it just says: "This list contains no items." where the HDD list of non-pooled drives should be.

Any ideas? I really hope to be able to use StableBit. Tried DriveBender and never got it figured out.

btw: All drives are on "dynamic" partitions if that is of importance.

well its not the ex475. I have one exactly like yours(2gb-BE2300) that i used to run whs2011 and stablebit on.
if stablebit installed correctly an both services are running, it could be that dp dont like 'dynamic' disks. dont you have a spare disk you could try, or remove the dynamic and create a default partition if the disk is empty?
  • You were right. Moved all the data off one of the disks. Then deleted all partitions and created a new basic one. Now DP sees it just fine. So dynamic disks is a no-go for DP. I was running RAID1 earlier, therefor the need for making them dynamic in the first place.
