Thank you,

Is drivepool for me?

edited April 2012 in DrivePool
Hi. I have WHS2011. In my server I have 3 x 2TB drives for storage in a software raid 0 using MS built in storage management. I backup to another 6TB array in a second WHS2011 server so duplicate files etc isn't a problem for me. I do think though that raid 0 is overkill as I only have 2 clients, rarely used at the same time and the server isn't accessed for 16 hours of each day.
I'm thinking using drivepool will not have the requirement for all drives to be spinning to access a file or at the very least I can set them to spin down as they wont be raided hence maybe stressing the disks less but I still have one big drive for storage?
Is that correct?

Thanks :)
