Thank you,

[Unmounted Volume]

edited August 2011 in DrivePool

I have an unmounted volume showing up in the "Not In Pool" drives.

The thing is I don't think thsi drive exists as a physical drive and do not want to activate the partition / format it / add to the pool for fear of losing some data.

Any suggestions?

  • Update - after a reboot, seems to have gone
  • Back again. Its showing up again - seems to have re-appeared when trying to copy some files, I got a "Insufficent System resources available to complete" error and the drive is now showing up again as "Not in the Pool)

Check your computer management -> disk management.

DrivePool uses the Windows API to enumerate available disks / volumes. If you see a disk available, then it should also be visible in disk management. Perhaps you'll have a better idea where it's coming from.

Obviously, the pool should not show up in the list of available disks, and I don't think that's possible.

"Not in the pool" are drives formatted as NTFS or completely unpartitioned / unformatted.
