  • I'm aware of the rare and spurious duplication errors. In all the cases I've seen they are false positives and is a problem with the way the system detects duplication errors and not in the way it duplicates files. It's one of the fundamental issues…
  • This was not tested. Based on the error it seems that there is a permissions error accessing the volume. That weird path refers the the root directory on that drive. DrivePool runs as LOCAL SYSTEM. Perhaps the system account doesn't have access to t…
  • I've pushed up the expiration date all the way up to March 2012. I've gathered enough error metrics for M3 and am now in the process of cooking up M4, I don't want to bug people to upgrade any longer. It's up to you. If you want to continue using th…
  • No formats, no way Full forward compatibility will be provided BETA -> Final. Any issues will be addressed through the standard support channel.

  • Using 4108, I have just turned on Direct IO and Fast IO.  When using Teracopy small files do not copy anymore (tried up to 733KB) with read access error, ... Just copies 400+ small files from the pool to the desktop on a Win 7 32-bit client using Te…
  • I will be testing AV with M4, but right now Direct I/O is not entirely complete, it's still interacting with the M3 code in order to make it work. Once the main switch is flipped and everything is on the new code I expect the situation to improve in…
  • I've fixed the issue, but it was a little strange that it was happening in the first place. It shouldn't be a problem in the next build. ---- I will not release the final until DrivePool meets my expectations. Right now... it's pretty good, but not …
  • I am aware of this and did confirm it. It is being addressed in M4 with the rest of the issues.
  • Will definitely be fixed in M4. In fact, that whole process will be gone.
  • While I haven't seen this in my testing, the way in which client computer backups interacts with the pool will change in M4 to make it more reliable. Again, this is after getting feedback from various people who have trouble running backups on the p…
  • ... But, after finishing setting it up in my second WHS 2011 install, it actually deleted 2 folders and I mean delete, because they were nowhere to be found. Hopefully, these were only new empty shares. So, if it can delete empty shares, it can also…
  • I haven't seen this with the tests that I'm doing locally. DrivePool is up for weeks at a time with no visible problems. The way to troubleshoot this is to take a dump of the DrivePool service using task manager. But with the changes coming to M4 I …
  • Using 4108, I just restarted the service 30 times and rebooted a live server 10 times and the service started up correctly every time. If this continues, zip up C:\ProgramData\StableBitDrivePool\Service And upload it using the form at the bottom of …
  • I've just put up 4108, but I didn't address anything like this. Will try to reproduce it over here.
  • I believe that this is a general Windows / HomeGroup limitation (or feature, depending on how you look at it). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  • The client computer backups folder is a little tricky. We handle it differently than any other folder, and it has to work with the backup service to tell it where it is... and this isn't implemented on re-install. I'm not even sure if this is possib…
  • I've been a little busy, but now have caught up with the dump submissions. This is fixed and deployed in 4099. On a side note, I'm really excited about some of the changes going into M4. There should be a new build within days that will feature the …
  • I'm fairly sure that this is still permissions related on the pool part folders. M4 is going to have some major changes in this regard so that it won't be affected by these problems.
  • Apparently it fixed one thing but there's something else going on in the Dashboard that crashes it. The problem is I can't figure out how to get darned DriveBender to actually work so I can't test this. I keep pushing buttons but everything is froze…
  • Definitely sounds like an issue with the BETA.
  • A part of DrivePool derives from the http://dokan-dev.net/en/ project (LGPL - library). It's the only part that's open source, hence the license agreement.
  • We always strive to maintain forward compatibility from BETA to BETA. In cases where people have had problems in the past, technical support was available @ stablebit.com. As for stability, I can tell you this. We are absolutely committed to providi…

  • Addressed in 2.0.0.1169. Out now. If it keeps happening send me the error reports @ stablebit.com/contact.
  • Our SMART interpretation is constantly evolving. SMART interpretation should improve as we approach 2.0 final. In your case, it sounds like it's misreading some parameter as the life expectancy. I seriously doubt that your SSD was operating for that…
  • Whatever it is it's not trial related. Could be a bug. Keep in mind, It takes a little bit to gather SMART after the disk list comes up, right after a reboot. I've had this kind of issue reported before, only to learn that it actually does come up a…
  • Normally drives report an interface, bit it looks like the DriveBender driver doesn't report one. I've changed the code to support this, it'll be out in the next build.
  • @Klode, Indeed that is an error that's affecting folder migration for some users in M3. We're working on a fix for M4. It involves changing some of the architecture introduced in M3 to be more reliable. If something goes wrong while DrivePool is mig…
  • May an issue with migrating folders with long path names. Please submit the error reports. Instructions:http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Error_Reports Thanks,
  • Thanks for the upload. That one was fixed in 4070.
  • There was another problem that was causing identical errors. It was affecting people who have added a new disk to the pool. 4074 fixes it. Out now.
