ReFS support?

edited May 2013 in DrivePool
Hi there,

The question is simple, does drivepool support the new Server 2012 filesystem ReFS?

Ok, just installed drivepool in a VM.
Apparently ReFS disks are not listed in the tool, so not supported...?
Can someone confirm that and indicate if some support is planned in the future?
  • If you look at the features for DrivePool, it is stated that the volume has to be NTFS.

Any simple* NTFS formatted disk can be added to the pool instantly, without erasing or altering the existing data on it.

I don't know anything about future ReFS support.

First I'd just like to say that I don't know anything :)

But I'm guessing ReFS will not be supported any time soon since it doesn't support Alternate data streams which DrivePool uses currently to store metadata such as duplication counts.

So a new "technique" for storing that info would probably need to be implemented first.

    Thanks for the feedback.
NTFS it will be then ;)
