Thank you,

remove duplication and drives

edited December 2012 in DrivePool

so if i have 3 drives and removed two drives out of the pool does this mean cos i only have one drive the data will not have duplication?

How do i remove 2 drives out of the 3 making sure it is not duplicated and i dont lose any data?

Thanks

If you only have one drive in the pool you cannot have duplication, since that requires more than one drive to work.

You can control whether a shared folder is duplicated via the Dashboard.

If you use the Dashboard to remove a drive from the pool, it makes sure the pooled data on that drive is moved to other drives in the pool. If removing a drive from the pool would cause you to lose data (e.g. because there is not enough free space on the remaining drives to take the data from the drive being removed), you will be warned.
