Noob Question Windows 7 Install

edited April 2013 in DrivePool

Sorry of this is a noob question but I am currently runnign WHS v1 and have not wanted to stop using it for the use of drive extender and the folder duplication.  But I will be building a new server in the coming days and came across Drivepool.

For the most part alot of the sreenshots and manual are based on Windows Server.  I installed Drivepool on Windows 7 and have been able to add a couple of drives.  However, I do cannot seem to determine how or if it is possible to have some type of GUI for folder duplication or overall drive information.

Is this not available on Windows 7?

There definitely is a GUI for it. Load up the StableBit DrivePool user interface (Start menu->All Programs->StableBit DrivePool->StableBit DrivePool.  (Or there about)
From there, it should show a pie chart, and there is a small triangle on the bottom right side of the pie chart. Click on that, and it should bring up a menu. Select "File Protection", and there should be a "Pool Duplication" and "Folder Duplication" options there to select.
  • Ah beauty thanks!  Didn't realize that triangle could be selected and expanded.

You'll love DrivePool, I'm an ex-WHS v1 user from while ago as well.  DrivePool is VERY flexible and reliable

Yeah, if you're not aware that it was there, I could see how you could miss that.

And yeah, DrivePool is much better than Drive Extender from WHSv1. :)
