Drive Pool and Outlook PST Files?

Hi,

I keep getting errors from my outlook PST files that are on a pooled drive saying they are corrupt and having to rerun the outlook checker tool to put them right. This happened years ago on the early WHS v1 but has been fine for the past few years so i've upgraded to WHS2011 and am using DrivePool to pool the drives, has any one else tried using outlook PST files with Drive pool as yet and if so what kind of results are we seeing?

    That sounds suspiciously like the Alternate Data Stream (ADS) loss/corruption issue that WHSv1 had in the early builds.  I think DrivePool made some ADS adjustments a couple builds ago.  What version are you running now?

    Hi,

    I'm currently running version 1.0.1.6008 and have moved my PST files local on my machine only using WHS2011 to back them up now.

    Outlook does not play well with a PST stored at a network location, even if it is a mapped drive.  I recently tried putting my PST in my personal folder on the WHS (Not in DrivePool) and had lots of slow operation from Outlook and freezes.  I had to disable Offline Files in the group policy on my Windows 7 machine to get the Outlook freezes to stop.  In the end, I ended up moving my PST back to my PC and haven't had any problems since.

    Hi,

    Yes have it on hard drive now and use back up to back it up, used it with WHS 1 after the teething issues for years as I access it from my main PC and my laptop around the house. The current set up means I cannot do that.
