Thank you,

Migrating from WHS to WHS 2011 + DrivePool

edited October 2012 in DrivePool
Hi,

I'm upgrading my WHS server by installing WHS 2011 and DrivePool. I don't have a massive amount of data (approx 1TB). I copied this over from the DE shares onto a 2TB hard drive.

My drives for the WHS 2011 setup are;

- 320GB system drive
- 500GB storage drive
- 1TB storage drive
- 2TB storage drive (the drive with all the backed-up content on it currently)

When I add the 3 storage drives to the storage pool. I presume I then move my server folders over to the pool. Is it then a matter of "copying" the data on the 2TB drive to the shares so that it's all in the correct locations? I presume DrivePool will balance the storage out for me?

Thanks.
