Thank you,

PerfectDisk Server 12.5 and DrivePool

Is it alright to use this with DP? How will it affect the pool?

Hi Scarab. The pool drive is virtual and does not need to be defragmented as it does not actually "contain" the files it aggregates. If PerfectDisk offers the pool drive as a candidate, exclude it.

The physical drives that make up the pool may still be individually defragmented according to manufacturer recommendations (e.g. do not defrag SSDs).

Hmm. I see that PerfectDisk makes use of something they've dubbed "OptiWrite". You might wish to test that feature on a non-critical pool before implementing it. You could also contact StableBit directly to ask if they've any experience with the product.
