Thank you,

M3 share access problem

edited August 2011 in DrivePool

Installed WHS 2011 based on the availability of Drivepool as a replacement for WHS 1's DE. Clean install including installation of M3 prior to any data being added to the system.

Everything seemed OK until my wife tried to create a new document in the Documents folder from a Win 7 client, received.message that the 'Documents' folder was not available. Testing showed it was still on line but could not be written too from the client.

Sub folders work fine, it looks like a ACL problem at the Documents folder level.

Using The UI reset permissions, still fails.

I can modify the permissions at the NTFS folder level but would like to see a list of standard ACL's before I do as I was hoping to avoid tweaking at this level which got me into trouble in WHS 1:-)

You can view the ACLs directly @ C:\ServerPool\ServerFolders\Docuements.1

Don't change them (nothing bad should happen even if you do). You should be able to reset the ACLs from the Dashboard at any time.

If you're still having this issue, please open up a case @ http://stablebit.com/contact and we'll set up a remote support appointment. I will log into your server and take a look at the situation.
