Do any of you guys have a secondary controller card you are using for your drives? I did (JMicron based) and simply updated to the latest drivers on JMicron's page for my chipset (Rosewill card; their drivers were from 2009). That fixed my hiccups. …

@MarkS I had some serious hiccups/slowness issues and updating the JMicron drivers worked for me. I don't have the same problem as you though, so I can't help you there. But thanks for being the catalyst to fixing mine!
