  • It's probably trying to transfer files off of the drive.  Assuming you have duplication turned on, just shut down, unplug the drive and then do the remove after you reboot.  Endorsed by Alex, and a lot faster.

  • I notice that you are both using mymovies, so there is something in common.  I'm using both DP and the scanner, but not the mymovies (yet).  No problem.  Maybe I'll try install mymovies and see if anything changes.
