  • Sure. If it's possible to fix it without rewriting half of the code, it'll be done M3 has the security tab. It's not out yet.
  • I've seen this error reported several times, but I can never get a good trace of it. It would be very useful to get a full log collected, including the kernel log. Follow these instructions: http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Log_Collectio…
  • I've added this to the todo list. Not exactly sure what's involved here or if DrivePool can do anything about this.
  • I've done a cursory test run of DrivePool on SBSE 2011, seems to work as expected. There might be no port work necessary. It's still not an officially supported platform yet, just because it wasn't tested enough. But it looks like it should work fin…
  • Since this is a permission error, I've put this on the M3 todo list. M3 revamps permissions so it makes sense that this issue might not exist in that build. I haven't gotten around to testing M3 issues, it's still being put together. It will definit…
  • Yeah, good point. I think the cloud needs to go on the right, the nest ID on the left and the computers can move up to the top. Perhaps in the next revision
  • Any info will be posted to http://blog.covecube.com. But this won't happen until at least M4 is out.
  • Both of the cons will be part of M3. Well... Hopefully they won't be cons anymore
  • I think we're talk about this through the support channel. If you need more info let me know. I guess the short story is that just because a file is duplicated doesn't mean that recovery is not useful. We can't know for sure how folder duplication w…
  • Yes. It will be in M3. For now, your option is to delete all duplicated folders, or to add another drive before removing one. You should of course move the files out first, if you'll be deleting the folders
  • Could be a compatibility problem with HDI Dune MAX. Will test.
  • Great!

  • Not sure I have the same issue, but I recently installed DrivePool in my newly installed WHS 2011 and after using it for a day I started having problems opening tabs in the dashboard.  I cannot say for certain this is a drivepool issue except that I…
  •    I personally would just like to thank Alex and the team for all the effort they are putting in... Thank you! Much appreciated    Oh there was one thing i wonderered about. After i created a pool of three drives, i then created a server folder c…

  • . How to make the shares we create available on Remote Web Access, am I missing something or is this feature not available. Coming soon in BETA M3. It's working in the internal builds but is not ready to go public.. I created three shared folders u…
  • BitFlock was refreshed a bit in order to accommodate multiple computers better, and the drives are now listed with the mount points as well. You can check it out here: https://bitflock.com/demo
  • That could work - what of cases where the nest contains the drives of more than one computer, or unmounted/removable drives? Hmm... Perhaps a vertical color coded tag indicating what computer each set of drives came from.
  • We're trying to keep the pool under C:\ServerPool\ServerFolders as a mounted volume (same as drive letter, but without the letter) for the final. I totally understand the want to make it a drive letter. I guess the thinking is that if it's a drive l…

  • Shane, This should not be happening in M2. When this happens please submit logs: http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Log_Collection You don't need to flip the log switch, when you notice that the service is not running, just zip up the log…
  • No Windows 7 support (yet). We're going to evaluate other OS support after the current version is released.

  • danivtec, The build 1671 does address a BSOD on wakeup, but I guess not the issue you're having. If Windows is having trouble writing out the memory.dmp file, then something more fundamental is going wrong besides DrivePool. It may be that the drive…

  • Hmm... Yeah, identifying the individual drives is not as clear as it should be. The thing with serial number / model numbers is that they're not always right When BitFlock has Direct I/O access to the drive it's able to query for the correct model …
  • I've examined your dumps and one of them does point to DrivePool, however since they're mini-dumps and there's no stack trace, I can't really analyze it further than that. If you could follow the instructions here and submit a kernel dump, that woul…

  • Still wondering about using reparse-points or symlinks from the existing WHS 2011 folders to the pooled folders... will that work? Setting up reparse points from an NTFS file system to DrivePool should work. However, reparse points from DrivePool to…
  • Build 1648 is out to address this specific issue. The only change is code to annihilate those old files which seem to be getting left over on some systems. It will first rename them to "*.todelete" and then try to delete them, if it can't it will sc…
  • I've gotten a number of bugs related to this starting from build 1627. What happened in 1627 is that the number of files being deployed changed. Right now I suspect that some files are not being removed when you uninstall the old version from either…
  • A port to SBS 2011 is highly likely, but we'll have to evaluate this more closely once we're at least at BETA M3.
  • Keep in mind that DrivePool does not balance storage in the background. Duplicated files are written in parallel to 2 physical storage units (hard drives) in real-time. So you will need at least 2 drives on the pool when copying files to duplicated …
  • Just verified that Guest account does indeed work with build 1627. This is what I've done: Create a new un-duplicated share on the pool with only Guest having full access, everyone else no access.I enabled the guest account on the WHS Dashboard.I th…
